Lake Hopatcong
Lake Hopatcong, the largest lake in New Jersey, has been a popular attraction to those near and far for decades. The lake gained much of its popularity as a vacation-destination in the 1920’s. Hotel rooms were hard to come by due to its many attractions, including the Bertrand Island Amusement Park. Since then, Lake Hopatcong has remained a fan-favorite by both locals and visitors from afar.
Stretching 9 miles amongst Morris and Sussex County, Lake Hopatcong is one of the only lakes in New Jersey that has multiple bars and restaurants accessible via boat.
Whether you are a local or visiting for the first time, Lake Hopatcong serves as a serene “getaway” for anyone needing an escape.
